GoLogin proxy setup: a static IP for every browser profile

GoLogin gives each browser profile its own fingerprint, cookies and storage, but every profile still leaves from your home connection until you give it a proxy. This GoLogin proxy setup guide adds a password-protected proxy to a profile, imports a batch of proxies for many profiles, sets timezone and language from the IP, and fixes the errors GoLogin shows when the connection fails.

Before you start: what to paste into GoLogin

From your dashboard you need four things for each proxy: the IP, the port, the username and the password. Put one static IP behind each profile and keep it there; the antidetect browser proxy guide explains why a rotating address is a poor fit.

GoLogin accepts a proxy as one pasted line and splits it into fields. The formats its help centre lists include these, with placeholders in place of real values:

The optional last part, client-a here, is a name for the proxy in GoLogin’s list. Naming each proxy after the client or project it belongs to saves a lot of squinting at IPs later.

How to add a proxy in GoLogin

The quickest route is the profile list: click the + in the profile’s Location column, enter the proxy, and click Connect. GoLogin picks HTTP or SOCKS for you and checks the proxy straight away.

1. Open All profiles and find the profile that needs a proxy.
2. In its Location column, click the + button.
3. In the window that opens, click the computer icon and enter the IP, port, username and password, or paste the whole line.
4. Leave the protocol as GoLogin set it, unless your dashboard says otherwise. It selects HTTP or SOCKS based on what is available.
5. Click Connect. A green indicator means GoLogin reached the proxy; a red one means it did not, and the troubleshooting section below says what to try.

Adding the proxy while creating or editing a profile

If you are building a profile with custom settings, click Add profile, open the Proxy tab and choose Your proxy. The other two choices are Gologin proxy, their own paid service, and Without proxy, which sends the profile out on your real IP. Paste the line, then click Create Profile.

For an existing profile, click the three dots on it, then Settings → Proxy → Your proxy.

Adding proxies to many GoLogin profiles at once

Three routes, depending on where you start:

• Proxies page. In the left menu, open Proxies → Import proxies, paste one proxy per line, and click Import proxies. They are saved for reuse, and you assign them to profiles afterwards.
• Straight into the profile list. Copy several lines and paste them into the Location column, with your system shortcut or the Paste proxies button. You can move proxies between profiles later.
• Bulk actions. Tick several profiles, click Proxy in the bulk actions row, enter the proxies, and click Update proxy.

However you import, check the result: one proxy per profile, no two profiles sharing an address. GoLogin’s own FAQ says the same, and recommends a different proxy for each profile.

Set GoLogin’s timezone and language from the proxy IP

GoLogin can fill these in from the proxy’s location, and for timezone and geolocation it does so by default. In the profile settings:

• Timezone tab: keep Fill timezone based on the external IP switched on.
• Geolocation tab: keep Fill geolocation based on the external IP on. The choice of Prompt, Allow or Block only decides what happens when a site asks for your location; Prompt is what a normal browser does.
• Languages, in the advanced settings: set to Based on IP to follow the proxy’s country. On Windows and Linux, a manual language also changes the browser’s own interface language.
• WebRTC: Based on IP reports the proxy’s address, Off disables WebRTC. Either stops your real IP leaking. Some sites need WebRTC on for calls, so prefer Based on IP.

This only works if the country is right to begin with. Static ISP proxies come in the country you pick at checkout, which is why they suit a profile meant to stay in one place.

How to check the profile’s IP in GoLogin

1. On All profiles, click the arrows next to the proxy name. GoLogin shows the proxy’s country and the current outgoing IP.
2. Click Run to start the profile, and open https://httpbin.org/ip in it. The origin should be the IP from your dashboard.
3. Open a WebRTC leak test page in the same profile. Your home IP should not appear.

GoLogin proxy not working? Fixes for common errors

Hover over the red indicator and GoLogin shows the error. GoLogin’s help centre lists them; these are the ones worth knowing.

“Proxy error. Response code 407 (Proxy Authentication Required)”

The proxy got your request and rejected the login. Compare the username and password with your dashboard character by character; a trailing space from copying counts as a character. More in the 407 Proxy Authentication Required guide.

“Proxy connection timed out” or “Check timeout exceeded”

GoLogin never got an answer. Check the IP and port, and that the order is still active. Then test the same proxy outside GoLogin:

If curl fails too, the problem is between your machine and the proxy; the connection timeout page covers it. If curl works and GoLogin does not, GoLogin’s own advice is to try another network, and to check that an antivirus or firewall is not blocking the app.

“Socks5 proxy rejected connection” or an invalid handshake

The protocol does not match the port. Set the proxy type to what your dashboard lists for the order, and paste again.

The profile shows the wrong country

IP geolocation databases disagree, and GoLogin’s help centre says so itself. If GoLogin, the site you use and a lookup site show different countries for the same IP, the site you actually work on is the one that matters. If the country is plainly wrong everywhere, tell us which IP it is.

Your real IP shows up

GoLogin names one known cause: NordVPN’s Threat Protection, which routes every browser through NordVPN even with the VPN disconnected. Turn it off. Also, do not put a VPN or proxy extension inside the profile; GoLogin’s FAQ says it will most likely not work and can let your real IP through. Use the profile’s proxy setting instead.

A note on what this is for

Separate profiles on separate IPs are for work like managing client accounts you are authorised to use, ad verification and testing.
