The trust page

Why we are cheap and still legit.

If you are on this page, a cheap provider probably took your money once. Here is exactly how we make the price work, and how to check that we are telling the truth.
Where the money goes

The price is low because the company is small.

Bandwidth costs roughly what it costs for everyone. What varies wildly is the organisation stacked on top of it. Ours is thin on purpose, and that is the entire trick — there is no clever arbitrage and no secret cheap pool.

No sales team

Nobody here is paid commission to get you onto a bigger plan. The price list is the price list.

No enterprise tier

We do not maintain a compliance department, a SOC 2 audit, or a procurement process. Those cost real money and you would be paying for them.

Support is a Discord

One channel serves everyone instead of a ticketing platform and a tiered support rota. It is also better, which is a nice accident.

Small team, boring stack

A handful of people, static marketing pages, and infrastructure we can explain on one whiteboard.

The part that matters

Being cheap is not the risky bit. The risky bit is that a cheap provider has three easy ways to quietly make the margin back: inflate the meter, mislabel the IPs, and keep your refund. The rest of this page is about those three things.

The three things we do differently

A meter you can check

Every request logged, with the byte count we billed you for.

Your dashboard shows each request: timestamp, host, status code, bytes in, bytes out, and the fraction of a cent it cost. Export it as CSV and reconcile it against your own logs. If our number is bigger than yours, we are wrong and we will fix it.

IPs labelled honestly

Residential means residential. Datacenter is sold as datacenter.

We publish the ASN type behind every IP you get. Nobody at ProxyMonkey has ever relabelled a datacenter range as residential to hit a price point, and the moment we do, you will be able to tell from the ASN field.

Refunds that actually happen

Unused balance back within 7 days, no interrogation.

Ask within 7 days of a top-up and your unused balance goes back the way it came. No "you consumed 0.4 GB so the whole thing is void." No support ticket maze. One message in Discord or email works.

Do not take our word for it

How to audit our meter in ten minutes.

We would genuinely rather you did this on day one with $5 than on day ninety with a real bill.

Run a fixed job

Fetch the same list of URLs — a few hundred is plenty — through our proxy, with your own byte counter in front of it. mitmproxy works, or a wrapper that sums request and response sizes.

Export our numbers

Download the CSV from your dashboard for the same window. One row per request, with bytes in, bytes out and cost.

Diff them

A few percent of drift is expected — TLS handshakes and connection setup are real bytes that your counter may not see. Anything approaching double digits is us being wrong, and we want to know.

Same test on a competitor

Run it against whoever burned you last time. The gap between their counter and yours is the number that tells you everything.

The other half of honesty

Things we are not going to claim.

Every proxy site says the same five things. Here they are, and here is what is actually true for us.

Common proxy marketing claims and what ProxyMonkey says instead
The usual claimWhat is true here
"100% uptime"Nobody has that. We publish incidents to a status bot in Discord, including the ones that were our fault and the ones that made us look bad.
"The biggest pool in the world"It is not. Bright Data and Oxylabs have far more IPs than we do. On hard targets, a bigger pool wins more often. We would rather you knew.
"99.9% success rate"Success rate depends almost entirely on what you are pointing at and how carefully you wrote your client. A provider quoting one number across all targets has picked the number.
"Ethically sourced" with no detailEveryone writes this. Ask any provider — us included — who the SDK partner is and how users opt in. If the answer is vague, that is your answer.
"Enterprise-grade"We are three people and a status bot. If your procurement process needs a vendor questionnaire filled in, we will politely point you at someone bigger.
Where we draw the line

Proxies are a tool. Some uses are not okay.

We are not going to moralise about scraping. Collecting public data is legitimate, useful, and most of what our customers do. Sneaker bots are not a moral emergency. Checking prices in another country is fine.

What is not fine is anything aimed at people rather than data: credential stuffing, account takeover, harassment and stalking, CSAM, fraud, and attacks on infrastructure. Accounts doing those things get closed and refunded rather than kept, and we keep an abuse address that a victim can actually reach.

Some of that is ethics. Some of it is self-interest — pools that tolerate abuse get blocklisted, and then nobody’s scraper works. Both reasons point the same way.

Hold us to it

Every claim on this page is one you can test. If we fail one, say so in the Discord in front of everybody. That is the point of running support in public.

The awkward questions

Why should I believe any of this?

You should not, on the strength of a marketing page. Every claim here is written so that you can check it rather than trust it: export the usage CSV and diff it, whois the IPs we give you, ask for a refund and see what happens.

That is deliberate. A promise you can verify in ten minutes is worth more than a badge.

What happens if I catch you overbilling?

Send us the two numbers. If ours is higher, we refund the difference and post what went wrong in the Discord where everyone can read it. If yours is wrong, we will show you why, and you get to keep being suspicious of us, which is fine.

Do you log what sites I visit?

We log the destination host, timestamp, status code and byte counts, because that is what makes the meter auditable and what lets us respond to abuse reports. We do not log request bodies, response bodies, or credentials. Logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted.

If you want the detail, it is written down in the privacy policy rather than implied here.

What do you do about abuse?

We publish an acceptable use policy, we keep an address that a victim of abuse can actually reach, and we act on reports. Accounts that get used for credential stuffing, harassment, CSAM or fraud get closed and refunded rather than kept.

This is partly ethics and partly self-interest: pools that tolerate that behaviour end up on blocklists, and then nobody’s scraper works.

Are you going to raise prices once I depend on you?

If our costs move, prices may move — pretending otherwise would be its own small lie. What we will not do is change the rate on a balance you have already paid for. Money already in your account buys traffic at the rate you bought it at.

Something missing? Ask it in Discord and we will add it here. ProxyMonkey has been doing this since 2025.

The community layer

Support in public, on purpose.

You can read how we handle other people's problems before you give us any money. That is a feature, not an accident.
