Webshare is one of the first names people find when they search for cheap proxies, and for good reasons: a free plan that needs no card, proxy servers priced in cents, and a residential pool you can target by country, city, state, ZIP or ASN.
Their residential proxies are sold as monthly plans that renew, and per gigabyte those plans cost less than our orders at every size they publish. The table has the numbers, so you do not have to take either of us at our word.
Where we differ is how you pay and what you can check. We sell from a balance that does not expire rather than a plan that renews, we log every request with its byte count, and we take crypto. Whether that is worth the higher rate depends on how steady your usage is.

Which one should you actually buy?
Pick Webshare if…
- You want to try proxies for nothing first. Their free plan needs no card and we have no free tier.
- You need residential IPs from one country, city or ZIP code. We cannot pin residential to a location.
- Your usage is about the same every month, so a renewing plan at a lower per-GB rate is simply cheaper.
- You want proxy-server IPs by the hundred for a few dollars a month.
Pick ProxyMonkey if…
- Your usage is lumpy, and you would rather buy GB when you need them than pay a plan every month.
- You want to see the byte count for every request, not a total.
- You want to pay in crypto.
- You want a refund window that does not close after 2 days or a tenth of a gigabyte.

Why would I pay more per GB?
Because a monthly plan is only cheaper if you use it. Their price is for a plan that renews each month; ours is a one-off order from a balance that does not expire. If you use about the same amount every month, compare monthly totals and they will usually win. If you need 40 GB one month and nothing for the next two, compare what you would actually spend over the quarter.
Can I pick a country on ProxyMonkey residential like I can on Webshare?
No. Our residential proxies rotate across the whole pool and cannot be pinned to a country. Our ISP and datacenter proxies can: you pick the country at checkout. If you need residential IPs from one place, Webshare is the better fit for that job.
