Decodo is what Smartproxy is called now, and it sits between the budget sellers and the enterprise end. They publish their prices, offer a free trial, include targeting down to ZIP code and ASN at no extra charge, and run support around the clock.
Their residential pricing comes two ways: monthly plans that get cheaper as they get bigger, and pay-as-you-go with no commitment. At a gigabyte or two they cost less than we do. From 10 GB up our orders cost less than their pay-as-you-go, and from 100 GB up less than their monthly plans too.
The differences that are not price: they can target a location and we cannot on residential; we show every request with its byte count, and sell from a balance rather than a renewing plan.

Which one should you actually buy?
Pick Decodo if…
- You want to try before paying anything. Their free trial has no equivalent here.
- You need residential IPs from a particular country, city, ZIP code or ASN, which they include at no extra charge.
- You buy a gigabyte or two at a time, where their pay-as-you-go rate is lower than ours.
- You need mobile proxies. We do not sell them.
Pick ProxyMonkey if…
- You buy tens of gigabytes or more and do not want a monthly plan to get a lower rate.
- You want to see the byte count for every request, not a total.
- You want a refund window on every top-up, not only the first purchase.

Why is there no free trial on ProxyMonkey?
We do not offer one. The nearest thing is the $5 minimum top-up, and unused balance comes back if you ask within 7 days.
